Tell us about your background, and how you came to found your company?
After being an investment banking analyst in the US, I decided to switch into consulting because of the diversity of projects and opportunities to travel. At some point, I founded my own firm in Europe working as a contractor for various clients, before moving back to Hong Kong. Elyx Consulting was founded at the end of 2017, and I have not looked back ever since.
What is most important to you and your organization – mission, vision, or core values? Why?
Core values are the most important, because they are your moral compass. Mission and vision are generally future-oriented, and although planning for the future is essential, the world is evolving so quickly that your mission and vision may be altered according to the conditions of the society around you.
Can you explain briefly how your service(s)/product(s) works?
Elyx Consulting provides management consulting services to large multinational corporations. Although my background is in strategy consulting to begin with, my services have evolved into more operational and technical types of projects as well. The last few years have seen a boom in digital transformation projects.
How has the industry been changing in recent years?
The management consulting industry is ever-evolving. There are mergers or acquisitions of consulting firms, especially boutique ones, while there are also new ones being established. Building a strong client base and a robust network contribute to a consulting firm's success, and often consulting firms shift gears or go through a strategic merger or acquisition with other consulting firms for this reason.
What makes you different from what’s currently available in the market?

As a boutique firm, Elyx Consulting caters to the deeper project needs for each client, rather than proposing a holistic or an overarching solution that attempts to solve a common type of problem. In reality, each client project differs in terms of difficulties and particular issues, and a customized and tailored approach is the only method of guaranteeing success on delivering each project's requirements.
What does the future hold for your company?
For the time being, Elyx Consulting is only based in Hong Kong. In the future, however, Elyx Consulting may seek to establish footprint in Europe and/or the US.
